Papi OdeQ & Tamasha Beats Band is a genre-defying live music outfit based in Nairobi, Kenya, known for their infectious stage energy, cultural storytelling, and sonic innovation. Fronted by the dynamic
Papi OdeQ — celebrated performing artist, Master of Ceremonies, and events curator with over two
decades of artistic excellence — the band fuses traditional Kenyan music styles with contemporary
Afrocentric rhythms to create an urban cultural music movement.
What started in 2004 as an acapella experiment in Nairobi’s art spaces (Formerly with Kayamba Africa
and Kayamba Fiesta, then Tamasha Beats) has evolved into a fully instrumented, powerhouse live act (from 2013), commanding spaces from intimate lounges to expansive festival stages. Tamasha Beats
Band embodies the pulse of Kenya, speaking in the languages of its people and the rhythm of its
streets — yet transcending borders with global Afro-fusion influences
